RICK HICKS RHYTHM & BLUES

Rick's career began at 4 years of age when his father James, an accomplished gospel singer and guitarist, bought him a plastic toy guitar for Christmas. Upon noticing his son's earnest efforts to actually "tune" this crude instrument to play a chord, he began to teach Rick to play. By age 6, he could play several tunes. He would begin to perform with his church choir at age 12. Eventually, younger brother Mark would accompany him on bass guitar under the tutelage of their father’s inspiration.

     "Music has always been my favorite hobby, be it Gospel, Jazz, or Blues. I consider myself quite fortunate to have performed, recorded, and traveled to Italy with Grammy nominated jazz vocalist, Betty Joplin. My own 'Rick Hicks Band' has been the opening act to: James Brown, Gladys Knight, Bobby Blue Bland, the Gap Band, Kool & the Gang, The Spinners, Spyra Gyra, Frankie Beverly & Maze, The Isley Brothers, and even rapper, L. L. Cool J." 

Rick is a regular talent at Lucy’s Sauggy Dollar Bar, who often plays solo, or with his band on scheduled event dates.

KEITH SCOTT CHICAGO BLUESMAN & FRIENDS

Remarkably versatile, Chicago-based Blues/Rock Guitarist Keith Scott has been working his way methodically up through the blues’ ranks since his parents bought him his first guitar at age 14 and his young ears heard Muddy Waters in 1980.

Today, Keith travels and shares his passion for blues at venues across the country. You can see Keith perform weekly at the House of Blues in Chicago.

THE GASOLINE GYPSIES

Original, genre-transcending, Rock N Roll delivered by four guys who love their craft. With three part vocal harmonies, driving guitar and bass riffs, their songs are powerful and intense, yet simple and honest. The Gypsies released "Killin' Time" on July 1st 2017, not long after they were deemed one of the “Three Best Unsigned Bands in the USA” by JBL, and right before they became Grand Prize Winners of the 2017 Michigan State Fair Superstar contest. In early 2018, the band received two Detroit Music awards for Best Americana Act and Best Americana Recording for "Killin' Time". With their 2018 release, "Vagabundos", the band has toured nationally along with releasing videos for "Walking Trouble" and "Freaks & Nonbeleivers".

MICHIGAN MARK BLUES DUO

Michigan Mark and Dan Giacobassi is a duo of acoustic guitar, vocals, sax and flute.
Michigan Mark DePree is a former resident of the Saugatuck area who moved to
Grand Rapids. While there he recorded 6 CDs and had four Jammy nominations
with WYCE radio station. He’s been active in the West Michigan music scene for
over 50 years.

Dan Giacobassi has a long history of playing sax and flute in West Michigan
and has spent some time in Japan as a student and teacher. Dan now resides
in the Muskegon area where he is active in several musical groups.
